What is cat insurance?

For many of us, our cat is part of the family. We know that you want to do all you can to care for your companion should they ever be feeling poorly, or just generally out of sorts. We also know that veterinary treatments can be costly. Cat insurance can offer financial protection against unexpected vet fees, should your cat ever require medical care. However, the choice of pet insurance for cats can be bewildering, so researching the policy that’s right for you and your cat is important.

Is it worth getting cat insurance?

Cat Insurance can be a huge help financially. Pet owners typically claim on their pet insurance far more frequently than on their home or car insurance. On average, a Vetsure policy holder makes at least one claim every two years. You never know what may happen around the corner, so having your trusted cat insurance policy in place in times when they need it the most makes it so worthwhile. You don’t want to ever compromise on their health, so we offer three types of policies allowing you to find the one that suits you and your companion best.

With Vetsure cat insurance you can claim for an unlimited number of conditions, provided they are not pre-existing. You also only need to pay your chosen excess amount just once per condition, which can be a massive help if your pet is unfortunate enough to suffer from a long-term medical condition.

Remember, if you ever have any questions about your cat insurance, we can help! We developed this table to show how likely it is that you’ll reach different limits within a policy year, if your cat becomes poorly and requires treatment.

We also have dog insurance and multi-pet insurance if your kitty is part of a big family with other pets.

At Vetsure, we know that everyone has different requirements and budgets when it comes to choosing the best cover for you and your cat. That’s why we offer a flexible range of cat insurance cover levels. Please call us on 0800 050 2022 if you have any questions about our policies.

Choose the policy that suits you and your cat companion best. Pick your desired cat insurance policy from our core range: Premier Plus, Premier and Accident Only. You can then tailor these policies and add optional extras if you need to.
