Nigel was born, raised and trained in South Africa. He qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1980 and has worked in small animal practice ever since. In 1993 he obtained his Masters Degree in Small Animal Medicine, becoming a South African Council registered Specialist in Small Animal Medicine. Nigel joined Newnham Court in 1994 as an assistant and become a partner in 1996. In 2002 Nigel was awarded the Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. The certificate reflects Nigel’s strong personal interest in the subject, and shows his dedication to studying dermatology (skin disease) at a higher level. In addition, Nigel has been using acupuncture to treat dogs and cats since 1982.
