How frequently should dogs and cats be vaccinated?

vaccinatingdog

Contrary to many pet forums out there, vets are not ripping you off when they recommend annual vaccination.

To achieve protection against all the most common infectious diseases dogs and cats usually require annual vaccination, although not necessarily against all of the infectious diseases as some vaccine components have now been demonstrated to last longer than one year. Any of the vets within our network will be able to advise you on the components required each year based on the lifestyle of your pet and associated risk factors e.g. of kennelling, attending shows or using catteries.

Most importantly, all pets should have a health examination at least once per year and this can be undertaken at the same time as vaccination. Remember, with Vetsure Cover & Care, you will get £20 off your annual booster vaccination and £20 off 6 monthly health screen consultations.
