What you might be surprised to learn is just how these ‘intended for human consumption’ treats equate to human sized treats. For example, 2 slices of salami for a dog is roughly 1.5 hamburgers to you and I! A glass of milk to a cat is roughly 6.5 large muffins to you and I (now I love a muffin as much as the next person, but I couldn’t eat 6)!
In this context it is easy to see how regular treats of this nature can lead to weight gain – and the problems this can introduce – in our pets.
