Pet Information – Dalmatian

As a puppy Dalmatians are born pure white, making it impossible to know whether their spots will be black or liver. An excellent companion and house-dog however they do need regular exercise as they are very active. Some health problems include allergies and they are often prone to hip dysplasia.  Dalmatians do not shed a lot and only require light brushing to remove dead hair.
They can produce a large litter, between 10 and 15 is not uncommon.

Life expectancy: 11-13 years.
Originating country: Greece, Croatia.
Temperament: Outgoing, Playful, Intelligent.
Interesting fact: Dalmatians were bred to run under or alongside horse-drawn carriages earning the name ‘Firehouse Dog’ as they were used with the fire service.
