A great symbol for the Commonwealth Games and to Scotland, the Scottish Terrier (Scotty dog) has become a worldwide star. Originally working dogs, they were bred for hunting and used to dig to find prey in the ground. They got the name ‘terrarii’ which translates to “workers of the earth”. The Scotty dog can be aggressive and tends to be aloof with strangers if they are not properly socialized when young. They shed only lightly however they do require significant grooming.
