The Manx cat is a breed of domestic cat originating from the Isle of Man. The breed has a naturally occurring mutation that shortens their tails. Many Manx have a small stub of a tail however the breed is best known for being entirely tailless. Manx are said to be social, tame, and active and are prized as a skilled hunter and thus have often been sought by farmers with rodent problems, and were once a preferred ship’s cat breed.
The Manx is known for its elongated hind legs and a rounded head and comes in all coat colours and patterns, though all-white specimens are rare. Long-haired variants are sometimes considered a separate breed, the Cymric.

Interesting fact: The Manx becomes very attached to humans and can often learn to fetch small thrown objects. They may also follow their owners about like a puppy
