The French Bulldog is a small breed, easily recognised by its distinctive ‘bat’ ears.
Despite the name, French Bulldogs are believed to be of British origin. Brought to England around 1900, with a French Bulldog club being formed in 1903.
Very intelligent and always ready for fun, the French Bulldog has an affectionate disposition. They are happy, engaging and very vivacious, however they are not at all boisterous or noisy. Comfort means a lot to them and they will happily live in house or flat as an integral part of the family.
Life expectancy: 11-14 years
Originating country: England
Temperament: Easygoing, playful and intelligent
Interesting fact: French Bulldogs accompanied English lacemakers to France in the 1900’s where they acquired their name
