RagaMuffins are a fairly recent breed, deriving from the Ragdoll developed in America in the 1960s. They are well known for being extremely affectionate, often described as the cuddly teddy bear of the cat world. They get on well with other pets and love people, including children. They are adaptable, but do not like to be left alone for very long.
However, they are often very trusting and have no notion that other animals or, sadly, some people may wish them harm, so they are not best suited to an outdoors life.
RagaMuffins tend to be heavy and muscular, with a broad chest and powerful shoulders. They have semi long haired coat which is silky like rabbit fur and is slightly longer around the ears, so it looks like a ruff. Thorough grooming at least once a week is a must, but as the RagaMuffin loves being groomed so this can be done as a daily bonding/play activity.
Life expectancy: 12-16 years
Originating country: America
Temperament: affectionate, mellow, craves attentions
Interesting fact: RagaMuffin kittens are born white. Colours & patterns develop as they mature, which takes around four years.
