Chewy, the lovable canine worm patroller, has been ‘dognapped’. The whereabouts of ‘Chewy’ – who had been bringing delight to adults and children alike as he made his way around the country, spreading the message of responsible dog ownership and the importance of regular worming – are currently unknown.
Novartis Animal Health, the company responsible for Chewy’s Wormpatrol Roadshow is working closely with police to track down the missing pooch. Chewy was parked up in Leeds ahead of the Driffield Agricultural, Game and Country Fair, where he was set to be one of the star attractions when he was stolen by unknown person(s) from a Hotel car park.
Chewy is quite conspicuous measuring 3.7 metres tall, 4 metres long and 1.6 metres wide and is red/brown in colour. Kingsley Baxendale from Wormpatrol.co.uk said: “We are devastated, just as pet dogs are a real part of the family all across the UK, Chewy is part of our Novartis Animal Health family and we’re anxious for his safe return. We would love the help of those on Twitter so if anyone has information or has spotted Chewy, please contact the Police or use the hashtag #ChewysRoadshow.” West Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who has seen Chewy to get in touch 101 or 0800 555 111. All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence.
