At Vetsure Pet Insurance we know how important it is to protect you beloved pooch. Puppy Awareness Week has been launched to tackle various issues and aims to ‘make sure that puppies live healthy, happy lives with suitable owners’, with the Kennel Club focusing on raising awareness of puppy farms.
Puppies that are bred from puppy farms often have an awful start in life as conditions are usually unsanitary with no regard to their wellbeing having been considered. Kennel Club research from 2013 shows that as many as one in three may have unknowingly bought from a puppy farm, after sourcing their puppy online, on social media, in pet shops or through free newspaper ads – outlets often used by puppy farmers.

It is really important when buying a puppy to know what to expect and to make sure you have selected the right breed for you and your lifestyle.
